Wilson Almonte, M.D.
Dr. Almonte has been practicing in the southeast Texas area since 2013. He completed his undergraduate education at New York University, followed by his medical degree at Penn State University College of Medicine, and went on to complete his residency in anesthesiology at Montefiore Medical Center, the University Hospital for Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He then completed a fellowship in pain medicine at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He is board certified in both Pain Management and Anesthesiology by The American Board of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Almonte believes in a more holistic approach to pain management and works to explore the most effective avenues in dealing with each patient’s particular ailments. He believes in remaining at the cutting edge of pain management technology and strives daily to provide optimal and personalized care for each of his patients.
Ted Lin, M.D.
Dr. Lin has been practicing in the greater Houston area since 2013. He attended The University of Texas at Austin, followed by medical degree at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He completed his anesthesiology residency and pain management fellowship at The University of Texas Medical Branch.
Dr. Lin individualizes his approach to each patient’s pain condition to not only manage their pain symptoms but work to alleviate the underlying cause. Utilizing a multi-modal approach to pain management, he works with each patient to achieve pain management and improved function.
Dr. Lin shares our mindset of providing excellent patient-centered care and tailoring plans to fit each individual patient while maintaining the high standards that our patients are used to.
Our Non-Physician Practitioners
Ms. Patricia Levien, FNP
Ms. Levien was born and raised in Refugio, TX. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Ms. Pat worked in a hospital setting including as a charge nurse for 21 years. She obtained her BSN and MSN degrees from Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi. She enjoys working in Pain Medicine because it is challenging and rewarding at the same time.
Ms. Lariann Moreno, PA-C
Ms. Moreno is a certified physician assistant. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia, and went on to obtain her graduate degree from Touro University of New York. She comes to us with 20 years of practice in the field of Internal Medicine, Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery. In her free time she enjoys spending time on her ranch and with her family.
Laura Crandall, PT, DPT, MS
Dr. Crandall has been a physical therapist for over 30 years. She graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy. She began her career as a physical therapist working with children and adolescents from the ages of 6 weeks to 21 years. She also has extensive experience in orthopedic physical therapy, home health physical therapy, industrial medicine, vestibular/balance physical therapy and geriatric physical therapy.
In 1994, in addition to working with patients in the clinic, she began teaching part-time in both Physical Therapist Assistant Programs and in Physical Therapy Doctorate Programs. She went on to pursue a Master’s Degree in Education from Western University, Pomona, CA and graduated in 2001. Dr. Crandall finished the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship Program in 2002 and became an APTA Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist from 2002-2012. In 2016, Dr. Crandall completed her Post Professional Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from Western University, Pomona, CA.
When Dr. Crandall is not teaching in physical therapy or working as a clinician, she loves spending time traveling with her husband and playing with her grandchildren.
Tamra Mikulik, PT, DPT
Dr. Mikulik attended the University of Texas at Austin from 1985-1988 and transferred to University of Texas Health Science Center to obtain her B.S. in Physical Therapy in 1990. She furthered her education at Hardin-Simmons University with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2012 in anticipation of expanding her knowledge and entering the academia world.
Her greatest areas of interest include education, geriatrics, neurological disorders (with a special interest in spinal cord injury and Parkinson’s Disease), chronic pain management, orthopedics, vestibular disorders/balance disorders, and any movement disorders which are challenging and require additional research and fortitude to help the individual reach maximum independence and achieve individual goals.
Our Physical Therapy Assistants
Candace Garcia, PTA
Ms. Garcia graduated from Victoria College in 2012 where she now teaches in the PTA program as an adjunct professor. She has knowledge of KT taping for pain relief and muscle imbalances, and is certified to administer LSVT BiG therapy. Parkinson’s Disease is near to her heart and she enjoys watching Parkinson’s patients make functional gains with BIG therapy. When she is not teaching or treating patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children.
Mary Ann Perez, PTA
Ms. Perez graduated with her Associate of Applied Science degree at The Victoria College in May 2017 and acquired her licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in July 2017. Her past clinical experience includes treatments in skilled nursing, outpatient and acute settings. She is a current member of the American Physical Therapy Association and is certified as a LSVT BIG clinician for patients with Parkinson’s Disease. She looks forward to becoming certified in more areas to help those in overcoming challenges that hinder them from performing their daily activities while regaining independence. A goal of hers is to start support groups in our community to bring those together that face the same challenges in everyday life. When she is not treating patients, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Marisol Corona, PTA
Ms. Corona graduated from Victoria College with an Associates of Applied Science degree in May 2018. She received her Physical Therapist Assistant licence in July of 2019. Her past clinical experience includes skilled nursing facilities, acute care, and outpatient clinics. She enjoys working with all conditions and her focus is to help each individual achieve their functional goals. Marisol is bilingual in English and Spanish. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her daughter, family, and friends.
